Today my wife and I were going through Pregnancy Day by Day, and according to the authors things are about to get very real. Gator (the 30 week fetus stuck in Eliza) is about 15 inches long, has begun yawning, making faces, and Eliza’s boobs are about to start leaking; breast milk I hope!?! I am also pretty sure the little stinker has finger nails and can do back flips. We are getting to the point where not only can we feel the baby move but we can watch it. We aren’t reenacting scenes from Alien but we are close.
I am not sure where I am going with this. I think I am amazed at what the human body is capable of. Maybe I’m amazed that Eliza still wakes up smiling regardless of the newest change in her physical appearance. Or possibly I am amazed at this entire process and simply need to talk this out. In any case, everyday Eliza and I are stepping into uncharted waters and becoming very aware that regardless of how we much we prepare this parenting thing is going to be a wild ride.
