I’m 31 and I’m Happy!!!

That looks like happy to me!!!

In case you don’t know, don’t care, aren’t a fan, or have your own life to worry about you may not be aware that this past October 1st yours truly turned 31 years old.  It doesn’t seem that long ago that I was a little boy wondering what the heck I was going to be like at 30.  Here I am at 31 and now I wonder what that little boy would think of who he grew up to be?  It’s a strange question to answer or even consider.  To be honest, it seems like a better question to get into at 40.
I think the little boy would find some of the stuff I I’ve done this past year pretty cool.  It was a year ago I began a campaign to punch 30 in the face.  Don’t worry I’m not rolling over for 31 and putting on a dress.  However, now being 31, the campaign is more about body slamming adult hood and all my 30’s through the floor.  Between its start and now I think I’m setting a good pace and landing a few hay makers.  I’ve jumped out of a plane, ran a marathon, changed a ton of diapers, lifted heavier weights than I have in my entire life, peacocked with some immortals on a not so small stage, seen some amazing sights in paradise, just about lost my leg to a spider, swam with dolphins, almost caught a marlin, remained a faithful and loving husband, stayed committed as a father, found the time to maintain this blog and even started a youtube channel (yeah that’s right I’m patting myself on the back).  Along the way I’ve also found out that I’m happy in my own shoes.

It’s amazing what a little perspective can give.  I’m sure the little guy in the mirror might be a little disappointed to know that who he grew up to be isn’t a pro football player, isn’t worth millions of dollars, and never did dunk a basketball (not a big boy ball at least).  I’m also pretty sure he’d be excited to learn that the guy in the mirror without millions of dollars is a good dad, enjoys ice cream, and when all is send and done at the end of most days is pretty stinking happy.  Maybe that’s what my all this campaigning is about; just being happy.  Don’t complicate things people.  Chase happiness and enjoy it when you get there.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ME!!! AND A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL THOSE WHO CONTRIBUTED TO MY HAPPINESS THIS PAST YEAR.  HOPEFULLY YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!
